Billing
- All lessons will be billed at the beginning of the month. This is a pre-pay billing plan. (see the section marked scheduling to read about cancellation and make-up lessons)
- There is a minimum of a $5 driving fee, which may be increased based on the distance.
- There is an additional charge for instrument rentals.
- We are now offering a $5 per student discount for families taking three or more lessons on the same day at their own home.
- Invoices will be emailed a week ahead via Square invoicing and on the 1st of the month for that month’s upcoming lessons. The amount will reflect the number of lessons in that month- either 4 or 5 weeks. We will send email and text reminders if your payment is late.
- Payment is due on the first of the month. A $5 late fee will be added on the 7th. Lessons will be put on hold after the 7th if payment is not received.
- Payment can be made using a debit or credit card on the Square invoice or through Venmo. If Venmo is best for you, invoices will still be emailed and the payment can be arranged through Holly.
Scheduling Lessons
- When you contact Nethery Music Studio for the first time, we will gather some basic information to get the booking process started (i.e., student age, experience level, and contact information). Holly will contact you to schedule your lessons.
- Scheduling and billing are handled directly by Holly Nethery.
- 7 day notice is required for a permanent schedule change. One month’s notice is required for permanent cancellation.
- Any absence and/or cancellation of a lesson will earn a make-up credit.
- If your family has an extenuating circumstance that may void the usual makeup credit terms, please contact Holly.
Make-up Credits
Make-up Credits are acquired through:
- Cancellations with a minimum 24-hour notice
- Medical or family emergency
Make-up credits are not acquired through:
- Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice
- Cancellations made with no notice
- Student tardiness
Make-up Credit Usage
- 4 Make-up Credits are available per student per year. Any additional cancellations will be billable and cannot be rescheduled.
- Extenuating circumstances, such as multiple family illnesses throughout the year will be taken into consideration. Please contact Holly Nethery if issues arise.
- Make-up lesson cancellations must be given with 24-hour notice. Failure to do so will result in the loss of the make-up credit. Extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration.
Make-up Credits may be scheduled:
- During the week, the teacher’s schedule permitting
- On a teacher-designated make-up Saturday
- In a month with 5 weeks (you would only pay for 4 weeks that month)
- During the day when the student is tracked-out or on holiday (teacher’s schedule permitting)
- By extending the duration of your weekly lesson (teacher’s schedule permitting)
- Make-up credits cannot replace regularly scheduled lessons.
Teacher Cancellations
Teacher Cancellations:
- Do not count against the client’s 4 make-up credits, but do require a make-up lesson. (see the section marked scheduling to read about cancellation and make-up lessons)
- Teachers may cancel 4 times per year. Additional teacher cancellations will be refunded.
Additional Notes
- When possible, schedule a virtual lesson instead of canceling.
- If the weather is too dangerous to drive, we will have a virtual lesson.
- The Studio will not be having lessons the week of Thanksgiving or Christmas, (specific dates below) no make-up will be needed for Studio canceled days as you will not be billed for those weeks.
- Teachers can schedule a vacation that will not need makeup credits, it will just be canceled. They will give 2 months notice.

- April 7-10 Easter
- July 3-5 Independence Day

Safety and Behavior
In the unlikely event that a student is injured during a music lesson, the teacher will notify the parent immediately. If the parent is not available, the teacher will decide the best way to handle the incident. If a serious injury occurs, 911 will be called. Bandaids, a glass of water, and ice packs may be administered by the teacher. All other medical needs must be provided by the parent. If your student has allergies or asthma please bring prescriptions as needed. All teachers will be focused on the safety and learning needs of the students. We will help keep students focused during the lesson and use stickers as positive reinforcement. If there is a major behavioral problem that we are uncomfortable with, it will need to be handled by the parent.
